Creating a New Auction
Please note, cross-listing across ATG's Partner Network cannot be enabled on an existing event- it can only be enabled while creating a new event in AuctionBuilder.
- Log into your AuctionBuilder account.
- Click the Create New Event link located on the left side of the page under 'AuctionTools'.
- A new section will appear in the center of the page.
- To create an event without using a pre-built template, click the Create a New Event link.
- To use a pre-built template to create an event, select a template name from the Pre-built Template field and click the Go button. If no pre-built templates have been created yet, this field will be empty. For more information, see Pre-Built Event Templates.
- On the following event set-up page, select the Event Type.
- To cross-list an auction across the ATG Partner Network, you must first have the network enabled on your account. If you cannot see the Partner Network options in your selected package, please reach out to your Client Success Manager to get started.

- These selections cannot be changed once the event is created.

- Complete the remaining standard auction creation steps in AuctionBuilder. Those steps can be found in more detail here.
- Please note, some features are not available on auctions cross-listed across ATG's Partner Network. For more information, see the Feature Differences for ATG Partner Network Auctions section below.
Cataloging
You can upload lots and images in the same way you would normally in AuctionBuilder- through the Bulk Loader or Catalog Generator.
- Lots, details, and images can take time to export and synchronize to all ATG Partner Network sites - up to 48 hours.
The following details are needed to ensure a swift and smooth cross-listing:
- Primary Category (Auction level)
- Lot categories
- Make/Manufacturer/Brand
- Model
- Year (Vehicles)
- Horsepower (Tractors)
For more information in selecting lot categories and entering lot metadata (make, model, year) in AuctionBuilder, see Lot Categorization & Metadata.
When using Wavebid for cataloging a cross-listed timed auction, the auction should be created in AuctionBuilder and then linked to Wavebid. From there you can then upload the catalog and images. Selecting lot categories and entering lot metadata (make, model, year) should be done in Wavebid.
- More information on using Wavebid to post auctions to Proxibid can be found here.
More information on categorizing lots in Wavebid can be found here.
Firearms cannot be included in a catalog that is cross-listed across the ATG Partner Network.
- If firearms lots are included in the catalog, they will need to be deleted from the catalog on Proxibid.
Categorization
It can be expected that items in these categories will be listed on the Partner sites if they are categorized accurately and contain the details required by the Partner site. Items categorized outside of these categories may list across the Partner Network, but may only be discoverable via search and not via the sites category filters:
- Farm Equipment.
- Heavy Construction – primarily, but not exclusively, forklifts and generators.
- Commercial Vehicles – primarily, but not exclusively, SUVs, Pickup Trucks, RVs, and Utility Vehicles.
For more information, see Lot Categorization & Metadata.
If your catalog does not include the category information and lot details required to list across the Partner Network, the ATG team will categorize your lots to the best of our ability within 48 hours of the event going 'Online'. Changes made to the catalog after initially going online will not be categorized by ATG as standard.
Bidder Impact
Your cross-listed auction will display across ATG's Partner Network sites. Bidders who access your catalog on these sites will be funneled back to your auction on Proxibid.com, where they will register and bid as usual.
Feature Differences for ATG Partner Network Auctions
This table describes the features that are not available on auctions cross-listed from Proxibid across ATG's Partner Network.
- Enabling these features where they are not available will result in disruption to your cross-listed auction.
Feature | Availability | Notes |
Reordering Lots |
Available (only when using Bulk Loader or Wavebid) |
Lots can be reordered in AuctionBuilder via the Bulk Loader or Wavebid only. The new order will sync to GAP Toolbox. |
Renumbering Lots |
Available (only when using Bulk Loader or Wavebid) |
Lots can be renumbered in AuctionBuilder via the Bulk Loader or Wavebid only. Renumbering should not be done more than twice via the Bulk Loader. The new lot numbers will sync to GAP Toolbox. Any time lots are renumbered in Wavebid, the entire catalog with all images needs to be exported to Proxibid. Exporting only the impacted lots, or exporting with the New Photos Only box checked can create issues with the way lots appear in the catalog. For more information, see Bulk Lot Number Change. |
Increment Table Edits |
Not Available | Edits cannot be made to auction increments for a cross-listed Timed auction once the auction is published and bidding begins. |
Off-Increment Starting Bids |
Not Available |
Start Bids (Ask Prices) that are off increment will be rounded up to the next valid increment. An asking price equal to your first valid increment will be automatically created if one is not specified- sometimes this will be $0.01. |
Multi-Ring/Linked Auctions | Partially Available |
Auctions can be linked in AuctionBuilder, but the auctions will not be linked on Partner sites. If linking cross-listed events, it's recommended to link them when they are in a "Disabled" state. When events are linked on Proxibid, items and/or bids cannot be moved between linked auctions. |
Featured Image | Not Available | Featured Images selected in Proxibid are not synced to Partner sites. |
