This article provides steps needed to use Wavebid to cross-list Timed auctions from Proxibid to LiveAuctioneers using atgXL.
This article contains the following sections:
Onboarding
Proxibid and Wavebid have an integration that allows users to export a catalog and photos directly, re-export changes to a catalog, and pull in sale results directly from Proxibid to Wavebid. Information about this integration can be found here, in the Proxibid Integration support article in the Wavebid Help Center.
- If you are not currently using Wavebid, but are interested in doing so, please contact your Client Services Manager, who can discuss options with you.
If you are new to Wavebid, you can sign up for training here.
- This training is specific to Wavebid and is separate from any other cross-listing training you will receive.
If your Wavebid account has not already been linked to Proxibid, it will need to be linked before you will be able to export a catalog from Wavebid to Proxibid.
- Steps on linking a Wavebid account to a Proxibid account can be found here.
Wavebid has an extensive help center that is accessible here 24/7. You can receive additional support by emailing support@wavebid.com or by calling 1-877-505-7770 M-F from 8:00AM CT - 8:00PM CT, or Sat/Sun from 8:00AM CT - 3PM CT.
Creating an Auction
An auction must be created directly in Proxibid AuctionBuilder before it can be linked to Wavebid. Cross-listed events cannot be created in AuctionBuilder using the Auto Export Auction option in Wavebid.
- Steps on creating a Timed auction that will be cross-listed to LiveAuctioneers can be found here.
Taxes, Buyer's Premiums, and other fees will need to be entered in both AuctionBuilder and Wavebid when creating the events, as that data does not export from Wavebid to Proxibid.
Once the auction has been created in Proxibid, it can be linked to the auction workspace in Wavebid.
- Steps on creating an auction workspace in Wavebid can be found here.
- Steps on linking an auction between Proxibid and Wavebid found here.
Cataloging in Wavebid
Once the auction spaces have been created in AuctionBuilder and Wavebid and they have been linked, the auction catalog can be built in Wavebid directly or imported into Wavebid via .CSV.
- Steps on building a catalog in Wavebid can be found here.
- Steps on importing a catalog into Wavebid can be found here.
- Steps on uploading images to a catalog in Wavebid can be found here.
Once the catalog is ready, it can be exported to Proxibid. Information on exporting can be found here.
- Please pay special attention to the list of fields that will be exported from Wavebid to Proxibid found under the 'Exporting an Auction' section.
Please also note that any time lots are re-numbered or re-sequenced in Wavebid, the entire catalog with all images needs to be exported to Proxibid. Exporting only the impacted lots, or exporting with the New Photos Only box checked can create issues with the way lots appear in the catalog.
For more information, see the Bulk Lot Number Change support article and/or the Edit Lot Sequencing support article in the Wavebid Help Center.
A full guide to cataloging in Wavebid can be found here.
Post Auction
It's recommended that auction houses use the Proxibid/Wavebid integration to pull results from Proxibid into Wavebid. Users will then need to manually import results from LiveAuctioneers into Wavebid.
Bidding results do not need to be exported from ATG Partner Network sites as those bids would have been placed on Proxibid.
Import Post-Sale Data from Proxibid
Use the Proxibid integration to pull results from Proxibid into Wavebid. Steps on importing post-sale data can be found here.
- Only data from lots sold on Proxibid.com will be imported into Wavebid via the Proxibid Integration.
- Any buyer credit card information that may be in AuctionBuilder will not import from Proxibid to Wavebid.
- Invoices that may have been marked as being paid in Proxibid will not have any payments applied to them in Wavebid. To reconcile this, the invoices in Wavebid will need to be manually marked as paid. This can be done in bulk using instructions found in the Bulk Update Invoices as Paid help article.
Import Post-Sale Data from LiveAuctioneers
- Manually export post-sale data from LiveAuctioneers.
- Steps on exporting the Full Report from LiveAuctioneers can be found here.
- LiveAuctioneers adds leading zeros to lot numbers in their exports- these need to be removed before importing the data into Wavebid. Steps on how to do so can be found here.
- Exports from LiveAuctioneers also contain dollar signs ($) and commas- these will also need to be removed before importing data into Wavebid. Steps on how to do so can be found here.
- Manually import post-sale data into Wavebid.
- Steps on importing post-sale data can be found here.
- The sale data and the bidder data will need to be imported separately.
- Once all the sale and bidder data has been imported, invoices will be automatically generated for all of the imported bidders.
- During high volume periods, it may take 3-5 minutes for all of the invoices to load. Click the Refresh button on the Invoices page in Wavebid if you are still not seeing the expected number of invoices.
- Information on Invoicing in Wavebid can be found here.
- Information on applying payments to invoices can be found here.
- Seller Settlements and reports will also generate in Wavebid once invoices have fully loaded.
