< Previous Step: Market Your Auction |
This article describes how to review and publish your auction when cross-listing from Proxibid to LiveAuctioneers using atgXL.
This article contains the following sections:
Make Final Catalog Edits
Unless you are using Wavebid, edits to auction or lot information should be undertaken in AuctionBuilder and not directly in LiveAuctioneers. See the Auction Feature Availability table and the Catalog Feature Availability table for more information about which fields can or cannot be edited in LiveAuctioneers or AuctionBuilder.
Please note that edits can take up to 30 minutes to fed over to LiveAuctioneers.
For Timed events, the AuctionBuilder Bulk Loader cannot be used to upload a catalog once the Event Status has been changed to 'Online'. If you need to have a catalog uploaded after the event has gone Online, please contact Seller Support.
Once your catalog is finalized, proceed to selecting a Listing and Commission Plan in LiveAuctioneers.
Select a Listing & Commission Plan
Once the cross-listed auction is created and saved in AuctionBuilder, it will appear in the LiveAuctioneers Seller Tools. Log into the LiveAuctioneers seller dashboard and go to the Pre-sale tab to find the auction. The status of the auction will be Draft/Unpublished, and will be described as 'Inactive'.
From the Auction Details tab in LiveAuctioneers, select a listing and commission plan by selecting Click here to activate.
Select a corresponding and relevant plan.
Contact your Client Success Manager if you have further questions regarding available Billing Plans.
Proof the Auction
The checklist below contains items that should be confirmed or reviewed prior to publishing your auction:
- Have you confirmed all of your event dates and times in AuctionBuilder and LiveAuctioneers?
- Have you selected the auction Cover Images in LiveAuctioneers?
- Do you need to edit your extended bidding time increment (default is two minutes)? If so, contact Seller Support before publishing the auction.
- Have your taxes been set in AuctionBuilder?
- Has your Buyer's Premium been set in AuctionBuilder? This cannot be changed once the auction is published on LiveAuctioneers.
- Have you contacted Seller Support to confirm your Increment Table in AuctionBuilder is correct?
- Have you confirmed your bidder approval criteria in both AuctionBuilder and LiveAuctioneers?
- Is your AuctionBuilder Paddle Number seed significantly different from LiveAuctioneers?
- Have you confirmed your staggered end time increment?
- Have you reviewed your Payment & Terms (Terms & Conditions) in both AuctionBuilder and LiveAuctioneers?
- If this is a linked event, have the events been linked in AuctionBuilder? (LiveAuctioneers does not support linked events)
- If you are using LivePayments to collect payment from LiveAuctioneers buyers, have you checked those settings and accepted payment methods in LiveAuctioneers?
- If you are using atgPay to collect payment from Proxibid buyers, have you enabled atgPay and any desired atgPay features in AuctionBuilder?
- Have all of your Starting Bids and Reserves been added to your catalog?
- Have you made your final catalog edits?
- Have you scheduled any marketing?
- If you are using Wavebid, have you reviewed this article?
- Have you selected a Listing & Commission Plan in LiveAuctioneers?
- Have you selected Shipping Options in LiveAuctioneers for LiveShipping?
Select Shipping Options
The auction’s shipping options are set to None selected. These must be set, and you can do this by clicking Edit from the Shipping Options row. Guidelines and Best Practices for LiveShipping can be found here.
Please note, the auction house must have a valid street address (not a P.O. box) on file in order to select Shipping Options.
The relevant shipping options must be chosen for the auction:
- Free local pick-up: This is a shipping option if the auctioneer allows pick up for purchased lots from the catalog location, provided during catalog setup.
- In-house shipping: If the auctioneer can provide a shipping quote and arrange shipping for all or selected lots after the sale. In addition, LiveAuctioneers allows auction houses to provide a pre-sale shipping flat rate for each lot or marks lots to have free shipping. In this case, the auctioneer can contact the LiveAuctioneers Seller Support Team to update the catalog information.
- Self-Arranged shipping is allowed: If the auctioneer doesn’t provide in-house shipping (this will be the default shipping option)
The shipping settings cannot be changed once the auction has started. It’s important to address all the above steps as part of proofing the catalog and before publishing.
