This article contains steps for creating a cross-listed Timed auction from Proxibid to LiveAuctioneers with atgXL.
This articles contains the following sections:
Before You Begin
Prior to creating a Timed cross-listed auction, you will need to onboard to atgXL and have access enabled on your account. Contact your Client Success Manager about signing up for atgXL, if you have not done so already.
US clients are required to onboard to and use LivePayments on LiveAuctioneers. Your Client Success Manager and the LiveAuctioneers Payments team will work with you to ensure you are set up with LivePay ahead of running your cross-listed timed auction.
If you want to use atgPay to collect payment from Proxibid bidders, you will need to apply and onboard to atgPay prior to creating your cross-listed event.
The Increment Table applied to an auction cannot be changed after the auction has been created. Please contact Seller Support to request changes to an auction-level Increment Table before an auction is created.
When using Wavebid for cataloging a cross-listed auction, the auction should be created in AuctionBuilder and then linked in Wavebid. More details on using Wavebid with cross-listed auctions can be found here.
Create a Timed Cross-Listed Auction
A cross-listed auction can be created in the same way as any other auction in AuctionBuilder. Full instructions on creating an event can be found here. A list of additional items to consider while creating a Timed cross-listed event can be found below.
Select an Event Type
When creating an event, select Timed as the Event Type. Once an event is created, the Event Type cannot be changed.
Enable Cross-Listing
When creating your event, select the option to Cross-list my auction, and then select the desired marketplace(s):
- To cross-list to LiveAuctioneers, select LiveAuctioneers.com as a Marketplace.
- Proxibid.com will be selected as a default marketplace.
- To cross-list the auction to other ATG marketplaces, you must first have those marketplaces enabled on your account. Contact your Client Success Manager to discuss enabling those marketplaces.
- These selections cannot be changed once the event is created.
Event Description
Enter a detailed description that provides additional information regarding the auction that answers the question, “What is being sold in this auction?” If there are specific name brands being featured in a catalog, those should be highlighted in the event description. A brief list of items can be listed in the description as well. For events being cross-listed to LiveAuctioneers, the Event Description field has a character limit of 8,000.
Approval Criteria for Buyers
Proxibid allows users to select the level of verification for approving buyers to participate in an event. Use the Approval Criteria drop-down to select an approval tier. More information on Proxibid approval criteria can be found here.
The selected approval criteria will not sync to LiveAuctioneers. Information on managing and approving LiveAuctioneers bidders can be found here.
Stagger End Times
Lots can be set up to end sequentially in regular time increments. To use this option, select the Set Time Increment Between Items radio button and use the drop-downs to select the increment. This estimated Last Item End time will update as lots are added or removed or the closing increment is changed. Staggered events times cannot span more than 12 hours.
The selected Staggered End Time will sync to LiveAuctioneers, however the increment cannot be less than one minute.
Sequential Paddle Number
The seed for sequential paddle numbers should be significantly different between AuctionBuilder and LiveAuctioneers to ensure no crossover.
The LiveAuctioneers paddle seed will automatically be set to start at 900. To avoid potential crossover, the Proxibid paddle seed in AuctionBuilder could, for example, start at 4,000.
Once the Listing page (create an auction) has been saved, proceed to the Payment & Terms page.
Set Payment & Terms
The Payment & Terms page will open after the auction Listing is created and saved in AuctionBuilder. The Payment & Terms page can be completed in the same way as a non-cross-listed auction. However, the information entered will only apply to bidders on Proxibid.com.
- Payment & Terms details will not sync to LiveAuctioneers and so must be completed in LiveAuctioneers ahead of publishing the catalog there.
- Accepted cards and payment options selected in AuctionBuilder will not sync from AuctionBuilder to LiveAuctioneers. Instead, LivePay will be the payment option for bidders on LiveAuctioneers.
Once the cross-listed auction has been created, taxes and premiums should be selected, then a catalog can be created or uploaded, and the event can be proofed and published.
