The article describes the process for changes the order (sequence) of the lots as they appear in a catalog. Changing a lot's order does not change the lot's number. For information on making bulk changes to lot numbers, see Renumber Lots.
This article contains the following sections:
Formatting a Spreadsheet
The Custom Lot Order feature will need to enabled by Seller Support or a Client Success Manager before lots can be re-sequenced. If this feature is not enabled, AuctionBuilder will just put lots in order by Lot Number.
A spreadsheet will need to be prepared before reordering lots in bulk.
If lots need to be added or deleted from the catalog, this should be done either before or after resequencing. The reorder spreadsheet should not be used as a method for adding or removing lots.
- Click the Bulk Loader link located on the left side of AuctionBuilder under Auction Tools.
- Use the Select Catalog drop-down to select the auction event.
- Click the Export Catalog button. Save the resulting file as a comma-separated value (.CSV) file format.
- Enter the new sale order into column B (Lot Order).
- Every lot in the catalog must be listed on the reorder spreadsheet. If there are 100 lots in the catalog, there must be 100 lots listed on the spreadsheet.
- If a lot's sequence will remain the same, it should still be included on the reorder spreadsheet with the same number listed in both column A and column B.
- Remove any rows that do not contain lots.
- Once all the new sequence has been entered, save the spreadsheet as a comma-separated value (.CSV) file format.
Reordering Lots in Bulk

- Click the Upload Catalog button.
- Click the Choose File button and select the saved renumber spreadsheet that was formatted above.

Reordering Individual Lots
The Custom Lot Order feature will need to enabled by Seller Support or a Client Success Manager before lots can be re-sequenced. If this feature is not enabled, the Lot Order field will not appear on the Catalog Generator page in AuctionBuilder. Instead, lots will be placed in order by Lot Number.
- Click the Catalog link at the bottom of the auction event section on the Dashboard. The Catalog Generator page will open.
- Use the Lot selector panel on the right side of the page to select the lot.
- Enter the new sequence number into the Lot Order field.
- Click the Update button. A confirmation message will appear.
Multiple lots can have the same lot order. If more than one lot is assigned the same lot order, AuctionBuilder will sort those lots first by lot order, then by lot number. For example, if lots 12, 23, and 15 are all assigned Lot Order 12, they will appear in the catalog in the following sequence: 12, 15, 23.
