This article describes the options available for selling lots on Proxibid.com using the Pending Confirmation feature.
This article contains the following sections:
Pending Confirmation Overview
Proxibid's marketplace is able to support auctioneers that need to be able to hold the validity of the sale of a lot, or group of lots, until the sale can be confirmed.
Once activated, this feature allows specific lots, or an entire catalog, to show sold items as "Pending Confirmation". This messaging will display to all bidders watching the live bidding window or looking through the auction's catalog. The lots (or catalog) will continue to display the "Pending Confirmation" messaging until the sale is confirmed, at which point the messaging will change to "Sold".

The Pending Confirmation feature is available for both Timed, Live, and Live Virtual event types, though they are managed differently.
Activating Pending Confirmation
Please contact Seller Support to enable the Pending Confirmation feature.
Once the Pending Confirmation feature has been enabled, follow the steps below to activate the feature. The feature needs to be activated before launching the auctioneer application on event day.
- Click on the Listing link at the bottom of the auction event on the AuctionBuilder Dashboard.
- Scroll down and check the Use sold pending confirm box.
- If the event type is Live or Live Virtual, use the drop-down to indicate whether Pending Confirmation should be applied to the Entire Auction or just to Specific Lots. If unsure, select Specific Lots.
- Click the Update button at the bottom of the page to save the changes.
Managing Pending Confirmation
Managing Live or Live Virtual Auctions
Proxibid supports two Pending Confirmation options with Live or Live Virtual events: Entire Auction or just Specific Lots. This option is set when activating the feature on the event's Listing page.
Entire Auction:
When applying the Pending Confirmation feature to the entire auction/catalog, all lots will be marked as "Pending Confirmation".
After the auction event has closed, contact a Proxibid Account Manager to update the catalog to "Sold".
Specific Lots:
When applying the Pending Confirmation feature to specific lots, the auction operator will have an additional button available in their control panel to mark individual lots or groups as "Pending Confirmation". If the lots are confirmed before the auction is over, the operator is able to return the lots to the ring and mark the lots as "Sold".
After the auction event has closed, contact a Proxibid Account Manager to update the status of any remaining lots to "Sold".
Managing Timed Auctions
After activating the Pending Confirmation feature, the "Pending Confirmation" message will display on all lots.
After the auction event has closed, contact a Proxibid Account Manager to update the lots to "Sold".
