Entering Event Keywords
The Event Keywords and Description page allows auction companies to assign a list of keywords to an auction event, making it easier to locate from a search perspective. Selecting keywords allows an auction event to show up in more internet searches, increasing auction awareness, page views and marketing value.
- Click on the Event Keywords link located on the left side of the AuctionBuilder page under Auction Tools.
- Use the drop-down to Select an Auction.
-
Enter a series of keywords into the Keywords field, being sure to click the Enter key after each keyword.
- Up to 20 keywords may be entered. Entering more than 20 keywords can hinder Google search results.
- Keywords are limited to 25 characters each.
- Each keyword should be one or two words per line. For example: fine art, antique cars, sporting goods, digital cameras, computers.
- Each word in a multi-word keyword counts as a separate keyword. For example, a single phrase "digital telephone system" would count as three keywords.
- Do not use words that are trademarked or registered. For example: Coca-Cola, Ford, Sony, Dell.
-
If desired, enter a description of the event into the Description field.
- The description can be up to 250 characters.
- The description should just be one or two clear, concise sentences.
- The description should also contain the auction company name.
- Click the Update button. A confirmation message will appear at the top of the page.
