This article describes how taxes, Buyer's Premiums, and other fees are handled when cross-listing an auction from Proxibid to BidSpotter and/or ATG White Label using atgXL.
This article contains the following sections:
Sales Tax
The auction-level and lot-level tax rates selected in Proxibid AuctionBuilder will sync to GAP Toolbox.
- To edit the taxes on a few individual lots, use the Catalog Generator in AuctionBuilder.
- To edit the lot-level taxes on a larger number of lots, please contact Seller Support for assistance.
- To review or edit the way any of your current tax rates are applied, please contact Seller Support.
For more information on setting taxes in AuctionBuilder, click here.
For events using atgPay, AuctionBuilder will send the default tax rate selected at the auction level to GAP Toolbox.
Buyer's Premiums
Buyer’s premiums for cross-listed auctions will be taken from the auction-level and lot-level on AuctionBuilder and will synch to GAP Toolbox.
- To edit the Buyer's Premiums on a few individual lots, use the Catalog Generator in AuctionBuilder.
- To edit the lot-level Buyer's Premiums on a larger number of lots, please contact Seller Support for assistance.
Ensure you have the desired account-level Buyer’s Premium set in AuctionBuilder when creating a cross-listed event. If you are not sure what that premium is, or want to adjust the value, please contact Seller Support.
If a Buyer's Premium is not Active on an event, downstream marketplaces will display a Buyer's Premium of 0%. For more information on setting fees in AuctionBuilder, click here.
- Tiered buyer’s premiums are not supported on auctions cross-listed from Proxibid to GAP Toolbox.
Taxing Buyer's Premiums
- If the sales tax for an auction is set up to calculate based on the 'running total', then that tax rate will be applied to both sales tax and Buyer's Premium in GAP Toolbox.
- If the sales tax for an auction is set up to calculate based on the 'buyer's premium amount' and has a code of 'IBPT', then that tax rate will be applied to just the Buyer's Premium (not sales tax) in GAP Toolbox. If this fee type is not an option on your account, please contact Seller Support to have it added.
- If there is not a specific Buyer's Premium tax set for the auction, and sales tax is set up to calculate based on the 'Hammer Price', then a Buyer's Premium of 0% will be sent to GAP Toolbox.
- To review or edit the way any of your current fees are applied, please contact Seller Support.
Other Fees
Taxes and Buyer's Premiums are the only fees that will sync to GAP Toolbox for cross-listed events.
If invoice fees need to be added to Proxibid invoices, they must be added at the account-level before the auction is created. If fees are added after an auction has been created, it will need to be re-created in order for those fees to applied. Contact Seller Support to have fees added to your account.
