This articles contains the following sections:
Before You Begin
Prior to creating a Timed cross-listed auction, you will need to onboard to atgXL and have access enabled on your account. Contact your Client Success Manager about signing up for atgXL, if you have not done so already.
Please note, Plug'n Pay can only be used to invoice bidders in GAP if it is setup before creating a cross-listed auction. Please contact Seller Support for more information on setting this up on your GAP Toolbox account if you have not already done so.
If you want to use atgPay to collect payment from Proxibid bidders, you will need to apply and onboard to atgPay prior to creating your cross-listed event.
When using Wavebid for cataloging a cross-listed auction, the auction should be created in AuctionBuilder and then linked in Wavebid. More details on using Wavebid with cross-listed auctions can be found here.
Create a Timed Cross-Listed Auction
A Timed cross-listed auction can be created in the same way as any other Timed auction in AuctionBuilder. Full instructions on creating an event can be found here. A list of additional items to consider while creating a Timed cross-listed event can be found below.
Select an Event Type
When creating an event, select Timed as the Event Type. Once an event is created, the Event Type cannot be changed.
Enable Cross-Listing
When creating your event, select the option to Cross-list my auction, and then select the desired marketplace(s):
- To cross-list to BidSpotter, select BidSpotter.com as a Marketplace.
- To cross-list to ATG White Label, Select Proxibid.com White Label as a Marketplace.
- Proxibid.com will be selected as a default marketplace.
- To cross-list the auction to other ATG marketplaces, you must first have those marketplaces enabled on your account. Contact your Client Success Manager to discuss enabling those marketplaces.
- These selections cannot be changed once the event is created.
Event Description
While AuctionBuilder allows for the Event Description field to contain up to 50,000 characters, auctions that are cross-listed may only use up to 8,000 characters.
Approval Criteria for Buyers
Proxibid allows users to select the level of verification for approving buyers to participate in an event. Use the Approval Criteria drop-down to select an approval tier. More information on Proxibid approval criteria can be found here.
The selected approval criteria will not sync to GAP Toolbox. The approval default settings for BidSpotter and/or ATG White Label bidders are set at the account level during onboarding. To make changes to these settings, contact Seller Support.
Stagger End Times
Lots can be set up to end sequentially in regular time increments. To use this option, select the Set Time Increment Between Items radio button and use the drop-downs to select the increment. This estimated Last Item End time will update as lots are added or removed or the closing increment is changed. Staggered events times cannot span more than 12 hours.
This value should not be changed once lots start closing. Editing this value after lots begin closing can cause issues with lot end times on all marketplaces.
The selected Staggered End Time will sync to GAP Toolbox.
Any time lots or images are added to the catalog, a prompt will appear asking if lots should be re-staggered. Always select Yes when this prompt appears and then wait for the confirmation advising that lots have been successfully re-staggered.
Sequential Paddle Number
The seed for sequential paddle numbers should be significantly different between AuctionBuilder and GAP Toolbox to ensure no crossover.
For example, to avoid potential crossover, the Proxibid paddle seed in AuctionBuilder could start at 1,000, and the BidSpotter and/or ATG White Label paddle seed could start at 4,000.
The default paddle setting in GAP Toolbox must be set to "Numbers starting from" to accommodate cross-listed auctions.
Once the Listing page (create an auction) has been saved, proceed to the Payment & Terms page.
Set Payment & Terms
The Payment & Terms page will open after the auction Listing is created and saved in AuctionBuilder. The Payment & Terms page can be completed in the same way as a non-cross-listed auction. However, the majority of the information entered on the Payment & Terms page will only apply to bidders on Proxibid.com.
Only two of the fields on AuctionBuilder's Payment & Terms page will sync to GAP Toolbox:
- Text entered into the Special Terms of Sale field in AuctionBuilder will sync to the Terms and Conditions field in GAP Toolbox.
- Text entered into the Shipping Instructions field in AuctionBuilder will sync to the Shipping/Removals field in GAP Toolbox.
atgPay can be enabled in AuctionBuilder on cross-listed auctions, however the features within atgPay will only apply to Proxibid bidders.
Accepted cards and payment options selected in AuctionBuilder will not sync from AuctionBuilder to GAP Toolbox. When your GAP Toolbox account is created, a set of default settings will be applied to your auctions for bidder registration and verification. These accepted cards are set at the account level and cannot be changed per event. Please contact Seller Support if you wish to adjust the accepted cards from the defaults.
Once the cross-listed auction has been created, taxes and premiums should be selected, then a catalog can be created or uploaded, and the event can be proofed and published.
