Before You Begin
Prior to creating a Live cross-listed auction, you will need to onboard to atgXL and have access enabled on your account. Contact your Client Success Manager about signing up for atgXL, if you have not done so already.
Please note, Plug'n Pay can only be used to invoice bidders in GAP if it is setup before creating a cross-listed auction. Please contact Seller Support for more information on setting this up on your GAP Toolbox account if you have not already done so.
If you want to use atgPay to collect payment from Proxibid bidders, you will need to apply and onboard to atgPay prior to creating your cross-listed event.
The Increment Table applied to an auction cannot be changed after the auction has been created. Please contact Seller Support to request changes to an auction-level Increment Table before an auction is created.
When using Wavebid for cataloging a cross-listed auction, the auction should be created in AuctionBuilder and then linked in Wavebid. More details on using Wavebid with cross-listed auctions can be found here.
Create a Live Cross-Listed Auction
A Live cross-listed auction can be created in the same way as any other Live auction in AuctionBuilder. Full instructions on creating an event can be found here, and a list of additional items to consider while creating your Live event can be found below.
Select an Event Type
When creating an event, select an Event Type of Live, Live & Prebid, or Live Virtual. Once an event is created, the Event Type cannot be changed to Timed, but can be changed to another Live event type.
Please note, while AuctionBuilder allows you to run a Live auction without pre-bidding, GAP Toolbox requires pre-bidding on Live auctions.
Enable Cross-Listing
When creating your event, select the option to Cross-list my auction, and then select the desired marketplace(s):
- To cross-list to BidSpotter, select BidSpotter.com as a Marketplace.
- To cross-list to ATG White Label, Select Proxibid.com White Label as a Marketplace.
- Proxibid.com will be selected as a default marketplace.
- Live auctions cannot be cross-listed to LiveAuctioneers.
- These selections cannot be changed once the event is created.
To cross-list the auction to other ATG marketplaces, you must first have those marketplaces enabled on your account. Contact your Client Success Manager to discuss enabling additional marketplaces.
Approval Criteria for Buyers
Proxibid allows users to select the level of verification for approving buyers to participate in an event. Use the Approval Criteria drop-down to select an approval tier. More information on Proxibid approval criteria can be found here.
The selected approval criteria will not sync to GAP Toolbox. The approval default settings for BidSpotter and/or ATG White Label bidders are set at the account level during onboarding. To make changes to these settings, contact Seller Support.
Reserve an Audio/Video Stream
If there is any chance the auction will be streamed online, check the Stream Audio/Video box to reserve a dial-in audio stream for the auction event. For more information, see Managing Live Events.
- It is strongly recommended that auction companies test their audio/video connection in AuctionBuilder 24-48 hours before an auction begins. For more information, see Live Streaming Test.
- If an event is being run on both Proxibid and BidSpotter/ATG White Label, it will require separate audio streams.
Select the 'Date of Live Event'
Use the Date of Live Event and Start Time fields and the Estimated End Date and Estimated End Time fields to enter the start and end date/time of the auction.
- The start time is the time bidders will plan on logging in for live bidding.
- If an event contains some inventory that will not be offered online, enter the times the online portion of the auction will begin/end. Any on-site times can then be listed in the Event Description.
- The Estimated End Date and Estimated End Time are used to assist the Proxibid Implementation team in scheduling support for events, and do not sync to GAP Toolbox.
Select an Operator Option
Use the Operator Option drop-down to select whether the auction will be self-run or run by an ATG Operator.
If you would like an ATG Operator to run your auction on both platforms, you will need to request two separate operators, one for Proxibid and one for BidSpotter/ATG White Label. You do not need separate operators for BidSpotter and ATG White Label as they are both managed through GAP.
- For information on requesting an Operator for Proxibid, see Event Operator Options.
- For information on requesting an Operator for BidSpotter/ATG White Label, see Requesting an Auction Services Pro.
Sequential Paddle Number
The seed for sequential paddle numbers should be significantly different between AuctionBuilder and GAP Toolbox to ensure no crossover.
For example, to avoid potential crossover, the Proxibid paddle seed in AuctionBuilder could start at 1,000, and the BidSpotter and/or ATG White Label paddle seed could start at 4,000.
The default paddle setting in GAP Toolbox must be set to "Numbers starting from" to accommodate cross-listed auctions.
Once the Listing page (create an auction) has been saved, proceed to the Payment & Terms page.
Set Payment & Terms
The Payment & Terms page will open after the auction Listing is created and saved in AuctionBuilder. The Payment & Terms page can be completed for the event in the same way as a non-cross-listed auction. However, the majority of the information entered on the Payment & Terms page will only apply to bidders on Proxibid.com.
Only two of the fields on the Payment & Terms page will sync to GAP Toolbox:
- Text entered into the Special Terms of Sale field in AuctionBuilder will sync to the Terms and Conditions field in GAP Toolbox.
- Text entered into the Shipping Instructions field in AuctionBuilder will sync to the Shipping/Removals field in GAP Toolbox.
Accepted cards and payment options selected in AuctionBuilder will not sync from AuctionBuilder to GAP Toolbox. When your GAP Toolbox account is created, a set of default settings will be applied to your auctions for bidder registration and verification. These accepted cards are set at the account level and cannot be changed per event. Please contact Seller Support if you wish to adjust the accepted cards from the defaults.
Once the Live cross-listed auction has been created, taxes and premiums should selected, then a catalog can be created or uploaded, and the event can be proofed and published.

Using Live Auction Applications
The Live auction applications for both Proxibid and GAP Toolbox will need to be launched and operated separately. There is no syncing between the two live applications.
- Once the live application is launched in either AuctionBuilder or GAP Toolbox, edits made to the catalog will not sync to the live applications. The live applications in both AuctionBuilder and GAP Toolbox will need to be re-launched in order for the changes to sync.
- Gap Toolbox's live application does not display the lot title. As such, adding the lot title to the lot description is recommended on Live events to make it easier for the operator to run the Live sale in GAP Toolbox.
- In both AuctionBuilder and GAP Toolbox, the auction is closed by the operator in the live auction application.
- Passing lots should be done by the operator via the live auction application for both AuctionBuilder and GAP Toolbox.
