< Previous Step: Market Your Auction |
This article describes how to review and publish your auction when cross-listing from Proxibid to BidSpotter and/or ATG White Label using atgXL.
This article contains the following sections:
Make Final Catalog Edits
Unless you're using Wavebid, edits to auction or lot information must only be undertaken in AuctionBuilder and not directly in GAP Toolbox. See the Auction Feature Availability table and the Catalog Feature Availability table for more information about which fields can or cannot be edited in GAP Toolbox or AuctionBuilder.
For Timed events, the AuctionBuilder Bulk Loader cannot be used to upload a catalog once the Event Status has been changed to 'Online'. For Live events, the Bulk Loader cannot be used after the Event Status has been changed to 'Live'. If you need to have a catalog uploaded after the event has gone Online/Live, please contact Seller Support.
For Live auctions, once the live application is launched in either AuctionBuilder or GAP Toolbox, edits made to the catalog will not sync to the live applications. The live applications in both AuctionBuilder and GAP Toolbox will need to be re-launched in order for the changes to sync.
Proofing Checklist
The checklist below contains items that should be confirmed or reviewed prior to publishing your auction in AuctionBuilder:
- Have you confirmed all of your event dates and times in AuctionBuilder and GAP Toolbox?
- Do you need to edit your extended bidding time increment (default is two minutes)? If so, contact Seller Support before your publish your auction.
- Have your taxes been set in AuctionBuilder?
- Has your Buyer's Premium been set in AuctionBuilder?
- Have you contacted Seller Support to confirm your Increment Table in AuctionBuilder is correct?
- Have you confirmed your bidder approval criteria in both AuctionBuilder and GAP Toolbox?
- Are your Paddle Number seeds/ranges significantly different in AuctionBuilder and GAP Toolbox?
- For Timed events, have you confirmed your staggered end time increment?
- For Live events, do you have operators for both Proxibid and BidSpotter/ATG White Label?
- Have you reviewed your Payment & Terms (Terms & Conditions) in both AuctionBuilder and GAP Toolbox?
- If this is a linked event, have the events been linked in both AuctionBuilder and GAP Toolbox?
- If you are using Plug'n Pay to collect payment from BidSpotter and/or ATG White Label buyers, have you checked those settings and accepted payment methods in GAP Toolbox?
- If you are using atgPay to collect payment from Proxibid buyers, have you enabled atgPay and any desired atgPay features in AuctionBuilder?
- Have all of your Starting Bids and Reserves been added to your catalog?
- Have you made your final catalog edits?
- Have you scheduled any marketing?
- If you are using Wavebid, have you reviewed this article?
Publish the Auction
The auction's status is synchronized from AuctionBuilder to GAP Toolbox, however, the auction’s status must be set in a specific order for the sync to work properly. The correct status progressions in AuctionBuilder are:
Timed Auctions: Disabled > Pending > Online
Live Auctions: Disabled > Pending > Online > Live
- Be sure to click the Update button at the bottom of the Listing page each time a new Status is selected to save the change.
- Switching the auction straight from a Disabled status to Online or Live in AuctionBuilder will put the auction out of sync with GAP Toolbox.
- The auction should only be changed to a Live status by the Operator when launching the live auction application in AuctionBuilder. Changing the status to Live prior to launching the event will result in bidders being able to access the Live auction, but only being able to place pre-bids.
- For more information about the auction's status in AuctionBuilder, see Event Status.
This table describes the status pairings you will see on each back-office tool:
Status in AuctionBuilder | Status in GAP Toolbox |
|
Awaiting Approval |
|
Approved |
|
Published |
|
Published *The auction status should only be changed to Live by the Operator when launching the live auction application in AuctionBuilder. |
- If you updated your Event Status to Online in AuctionBuilder, but the event is still showing as Awaiting Approval in GAP Toolbox, please contact Seller Support.
- An auction must contain at least one lot before it can be published to GAP Toolbox.
- Contact Seller Support if there is a need to regress the status of an atgXL event once the status has been changed to Online or Live.
To update your event status, navigate to the Listing page for the auction, edit the Status drop-down, and then click the Update button at the bottom of the page. A confirmation message will appear.
Be sure to click the Update button at the bottom of the Listing page each time a new Status is selected to save the change.
The auction Start Time needs to be at least one hour in the future when publishing your auction in AuctionBuilder. This will give time to go into GAP Toolbox and confirm all auction options before bidding begins.
Once an auction's Start Time has passed, event details should not be edited. If edits/adjustments must be made after the auction start time, please contact Seller Support.
