Proxibid to GAP: Getting Started

  Consideration

The Approval Criteria for Buyers selected in AuctionBuilder does not sync to GAP Toolbox. Bidder automation that has been set in AuctionBuilder will not extend to BidSpotter/ATG White Label bidders either.

Default auto-approval rules are set on your GAP Toolbox account. These defaults can be adjusted by contacting Seller Support.

The seed for sequential paddle numbers should be significantly different between AuctionBuilder and GAP Toolbox to ensure no crossover.

• Ex. To avoid potential crossover, the Proxibid paddle seed in AuctionBuilder could start at 1,000, and the BidSpotter and/or ATG White Label paddle seed could start at 4,000.

The default paddle setting in GAP Toolbox must be set to "Numbers starting from" to accommodate cross-listed auctions.

The auction-level increment table that is created in AuctionBuilder will sync to GAP Toolbox.

Please contact Seller Support to request changes to an auction-level increment table before an auction is created. The increment table cannot be changed after the event has been created.

Lot-level increment tables cannot be used on cross-listed events. Sellers can utilize Starting Bids to ensure high-value items are starting at higher increments.

Once an auction's Start Time has passed, event details cannot be edited. If edits/adjustments must be made after the auction start time, please contact Seller Support.

Unless you are using Wavebid, catalog edits should be made primarily in AuctionBuilder. These changes, for the most part, will automatically synchronize with GAP Toolbox.

Images can take time to export and sync to your additional marketplaces, up to several hours depending on the size of the catalog. Please consider this when setting the event's Start Time.

Reserves 

(Timed Auctions)

Reserves will sync to GAP Toolbox for Timed atgXL auctions. If Reserves need to be edited at any time, they should be lowered to the next highest bid. Lowering the Reserve to $0 on a lot with bids may disrupt the lot's bid drive, resulting in a loss of bids.

Winner Notifications can be sent from GAP Toolbox for cross-listed auctions, but they cannot be made tax exempt.

Plug'n Pay can only be used to invoice and collect payment from  BidSpotter and/or ATG White Label bidders, but it must be setup before creating a cross-listed auction. Please contact Seller Support for more information on setting this up on your GAP Toolbox account if you have not already done so.

atgPay can be used to collect payment from Proxibid bidders. You can find steps on applying and onboarding to atgPay here.

Consideration

While AuctionBuilder allows you to run a Live auction without pre-bidding, GAP Toolbox requires pre-bidding on Live auctions.

Gap Toolbox's live application does not display the lot title. As such, adding the lot title to the lot description is recommended on Live events to make it easier for the operator to run the Live sale in GAP Toolbox.

Reserves

(Live Auctions)

Reserves will not sync to Gap Toolbox on Live cross-listed auctions. If reserves are needed on BidSpotter or ATG White Label, they will need to be added to the catalog in GAP Toolbox manually.

If you would like an ATG Operator to run your auction on both platforms, you will need to request two separate operators, one for Proxibid and one for BidSpotter/ATG White Label. See below for more information.

A primary category that best matches the auction should be selected in AuctionBuilder. All Proxibid primary categories are mapped automatically to GAP Toolbox primary categories, although the naming of them will be different. Click here for category mapping details.

Lot-Level categorization will not sync to GAP Toolbox. Lot-level categorization in GAP Toolbox will be handled by the auto-categorization tool.

Auctions can be linked in AuctionBuilder but that linking will not sync to GAP Toolbox. As such, the auctions will also need to be linked in directly in GAP Toolbox before the auction start date.

If linking cross-listed events, it's recommended to link them when they are in a "Disabled" state.

When events are linked in AuctionBuilder, items cannot be moved between linked auctions – this will cause issues with synching between marketplaces.

Staggered end times will sync from AuctionBuilder to GAP Toolbox.

Auction statuses set in AuctionBuilder will sync to GAP Toolbox, only when the status progresses in the correct order. Click here for more information.

Extended bidding is available for cross-listed events, and it will continue until bidding on a particular item ends. The default is two minutes. If you wish to change your Extended Bidding time from the default, it must be done before lots start closing. To change your Extended Bidding time, contact Seller Support.

Auto-approval rules (bidder automation) set in AuctionBuilder, including MarketGuard tiers, do not sync to GAP Toolbox.

Default auto-approval rules are set on your GAP Toolbox account. These defaults can be adjusted by contacting Seller Support.

atgPay can only be used to charge Proxibid bidders only. Bidder tax exemption forms uploaded to Proxibid will not feed over to GAP Toolbox.

Plug'n Pay can be used to charge BidSpotter and ATG White Label bidders, as long as it was enabled before the auction was created.

Auction-level and lot-level tax rates selected in AuctionBuilder will sync to GAP Toolbox. See the Set Taxes & Premiums article for more information.

For events using atgPay, AuctionBuilder will send the default tax rate selected at the auction level.

Tiered buyer’s premiums are not supported on auctions cross-listed from Proxibid to GAP Toolbox.

Deposits are not supported on BidSpotter or ATG White Label for cross-listed auctions. However, Pre-Authorizations can be taken in GAP Toolbox for BidSpotter and ATG White Label bidders, as long as it was enabled before the auction was created.  

Users cannot re-open lots in GAP Toolbox on cross-listed auctions. To have a lot re-opened, contact Seller Support.

Cancelling an auction in AuctionBuilder will not cancel the auction in BidSpotter and/or ATG White Label. The auction will need to be cancelled in GAP Toolbox separately. If you need to cancel an auction, please contact your Client Success Manager or Seller Support.
